OWNERS REMARKS
What a boat!
Calypso was born in 1988 and has had three owners. She’s powered by twin 200HP Volvo Penta TAMD41As and,
with her trawler shaped hull design, is great fun on the water.
She has a spacious aft cabin with ensuite. Light and airy saloon, with pull out bed for two.
A nook opposite the galley, the table of which lowers and then can also sleep two.
Plus two single berths in the big forepeak. Forward heads has a Jabsco loo, plus tap/shower with electric drainage;
showers are a treat onboard with the great hot water. Aft heads has a new electric loo, plus tap/shower and electric drainage.
She has a dual driving system – either from inside the saloon or upstairs from the flybridge;
a fully-equipped galley and large fridge;
plus Calypso has a large flybridge and aft deck, with a new canopy, providing perfect spaces
for socialising, sunbathing, or simply taking in the views.
She’s a classic – think Miami Vice – and is great fun to spend time on her as well as handling out and about.
From her retro/original chart instruments display – original radar plotter, phone-radio – to her classic aesthetic lines,
Calypso has great character and with her superior build quality by Birchwood, she always feels like she’s taking care of you.
She spent the first 30 years known as “La Principessa” and lived on the South Coast, near/around Port Solent.
Her first owner was latterly rather ill and so the vessel was out of the water for a number years between 2010 and 2018.
She was sold in 2018 and renamed “Calypso”, staying on the South Coast at Hayling Island. Consequently,
her engine hours are very low for her age. Since we bought her, she’s stayed at Southsea Marina. We had her out
of the water for about four months in 2022, for serious structural upgrades.
Whether we’ve used her for weekend getaways, coastal adventures, or entertaining guests,
Calypso has been our little slice of nautical excellence. We will miss her and hope to find great new owners
