Mechanical
Perkins 4.236 72 hp inboard diesel (fitted new in 1997). Engine hours around 3890. Hydraulic gear box, indirect cooling. Voltmeter, ammeter, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, gearbox oil pressure gauge and rev counter. 2 fuel tanks, 200 litres each. Shaft drive to single 4 blade fixed propeller. Cruising speed under engine is around 4-5 knots. Fuel consumption is about 3.5 litres per hour.
BOWTHRUSTER
Lewmar bowthruster with controls at helm and by wireless remote.
Electrical
Alternator with 90Amp/hr Adverc charging to a bank of 12 x 2v lead acid deep cycle batteries (800 Amp/hr in total) providing a 12v supply. 1 x heavy duty 12v engine start battery. 240v shore power with battery charger. Inverter. LED lights. Galvanic isolator. Re-wired throughout 2002-3.
Navigation
Compass, Navman 4100sx depth/fish finder, NASA windspeed and direction, new Icom IC-M330 DSC VHF radio (just purchased, not fitted), Raymarine autopilot, Laptop with SeaPro software acting as chart plotter/GPS with Koden radar overlay, Digital yacht AIS, Iridium Satellite connection, radar reflector, clock and barometer, navigation lights, steaming light, tricolour light and anchor light.
Safety
Liferaft (last service 10/2019 so now due), jackstay lifelines, danbuoy, safety harnesses, carbon monoxide detector, gas detector, EPIRB beacon, rope cutter on propeller, 6 fire extinguishers, engine auto extinguisher, electric auto bilge pump with bilge alarm.
Deck Gear
Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit, wooden guardrails, boarding ladder, wheel steering, helm seat, 2 screen wipers, 2 fans, 2 self tailing sheet winches, 3 halyard winches, inflatable dinghy, 20kg Bruce main anchor with 80m of chain and 20m of warp, Quick electric anchor windlass with controls on the windlass, at the helm and by wireless remote, boathooks, 90m tow rope, mooring warps and fenders. Also included - Hydrovane windvane self-steering system.
Sails
Slab reefing mainsail (2 reefs - North Sea Sails) with mainsail cover. Mizzen with sail cover. Sailspar genoa roller reefing system with furling Genoa (North Sea Sails). Storm jib. Old wooden spars replaced with Sailspar aluminium masts and booms in around 2002. Stainless steel standing rigging (2012).
Domestic
She is equipped with a hot air diesel fired heating system, 240 volt ringmain with winter tube heaters. Her galley has a gas cooker with 2 burners, oven and grill, 12v/gas/240v refrigerator, pressurised hot and cold water, water supply is from a 364 litre freshwater tank with hot water via a Paloma gas water heater. Her separate heads compartment has a Jabsco marine toilet and shower with electric shower pump, 137 litre holding tank. Beige fabric upholstery with curtains.
ACCOMMODATION:
Her forward cabin has 2 full sized single “V” berths, storage shelves and reading lights over with storage beneath. Saloon seating converts to a double berth. Her aft cabin has 2 large single berths, centre line chest of drawers/dressing table, water and underbunk storage.
Owners Comments
"Kiitaja" was purchased by her present owner in 2002. She has been used for extensive sailed single-handed cruising to the Isles of Scilly, round Britain and Ireland several times, Ornkeys, Shetlands, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia (St Petersburg), Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Norway. In 2025 her owner sailed to Scotland, the Orkney Islands, Faroe Islands, Iceland & Greenland. She is set up for offshore sailing and is ready for her next trip, but is in moderate cosmetic condition. Her owner is reluctantly selling due to ill health.
